This is a great condition WWII "Lend Lease" Lee Enfield No4 MKI* .303 rifle. This example was manufactured by Canadian firm Long Branch in 1943 and was issued to New Zealand forces during the war. The stock band has the original N /I\ Z ownership and unit markings which have been over stamped with DP. New Zealand had a very small armed force of only 140,000 personnel and received relatively small quantities of firearms. Post WWII and after being sold off by the military it was exported by Sarco Inc. USA, the worlds biggest firearms dealer before eventually returning to the UK in the 1990s where it was deactivated. It still retains its matching woodwork and has a Long Branch bolt and spike bayonet. Also included is a clip with 5 inert rounds and a canvas sling. Deactivated with a working action.
