This is a genuine First World War issued SMLE sniper rifle scope that was manufactured in 1916 by Aldis Brothers, Birmingham. Scopes that were fitted to sniper rifles were numbered to the SMLE they were attached to. This one was fitted to rifle no C1625. Confirming it to be a genuine WWI sniper scope. We have attached a page from Ian Skennerton's book "The Lee Enfield" that covers all aspects and this variant of the SMLE sniper rifle. A rare survivor. The optics are in superb condition.
