Deactivated WW2 D-Day era US Colt 1911A1 Pistol
- Product Code: 169colt
- Availability: Out Of Stock
This is a great example of WW2 Colt 1911A1 that has definitely seen service. The serial number dates 1944. Below the serial number are the initials "RIA" meaning Rock Island Arsenal, who were contracted by the US Government to repair weapons after the war. The 1911 has become synonyms with the US infantryman of WW2 and the Vietnam War. This example may well have been on the beaches of Normandy in June 1944? The overall wear and tear would strongly suggest it was in service for some considerable time, and requiring a visit to the RIA workshop confirming that it was in need of repair / rework!! Deactivated with a working action.
