Deactivated WW2 German MG42 Machine Gun
- Product Code: 3357MG
- Availability: Out Of Stock
This is a genuine Second World War German MG42 machine gun.
This example was manufactured in 1944 by Gustloff-Werke, Suhl (dfb) and bears the correct date code "MU" that was only used exclusively by Gustloff-Werke in 1944. Recognised serial number blocks used by Gustloff are known to run from 4091c to 9165i, with this gun being serial number 3357d and receiver correctly marked twice with WaA4. Often missing or removed from MG42s is the Anti Aircraft flip up sight fitted to the rear sights. The bipod is also made by Gustloff "dfb" and is dated 1943, both legs carry the initials "dfb" and the left leg shows signs of battle damage. The gun looks to be complete having no post war Yugo parts, further confirmation of this being the original wartime finish is evident with an even patinia throughout. Many of the ancillery parts are correctly marked with the wartime sub-contractors codes and Waffen stamps.
The WW2 MG42 is without doubt one of the most infamous German weapons, capable of firing an incredible 1200 plus rounds a minute, Allied soldiers often recall hearing its distinctive "buzz saw" action and would immediately take cover or face the consequences!
Deactivated with a working action.
