Product Information

A rare WWII US made Savage Stevens Lee Enfield No4T sniper rifle. Very few Savage 4T's were fielded during the war. It is believed that around a 1000 were delivered during the war but only a handful were converted into the "4T" by the British. This rifle is a very early example. Dated 1942, the serial number is 0C3153 - rifle number 3153rd. Savage's serialisation started 0C1. This rifle would have been hand selected from the production line for conversion into a sniper. It has its original matched correct early bolt. The letter T designation stamped on the receiver (Telescopic Rifle) . The correct US flaming grenade ordnance stamp below the serial, and the S (Savage) visible on all parts. The No4T was a superb sniper rifle and in the hands of skilled Allied marksman they often prevented the advance or movements Axis soldiers. They were also one the hardest working members of a unit.

Post WWII the MOD sold their stocks of 4T's often with out the mounts and scope and most went into private ownership. These tried rifles were often put back into sniping form by their new private owners using both wartime and post war parts.

It is fitted with a genuine and correct wartime leather sling and has original leather lens covers (not pictured). The scope optics are perfect and clear.

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
