This is a Belgium made FN M1924 carbine that was ordered by and built for Indische Ondernemers Bond (IOB) for use in the Dutch East Indies (modern day Indonesia). It is estimated the some 40,000 police carbines and other rifles were purchased for use in the Dutch East Indies, this carbine being one of them. The design is based on the German Mauser 98 action and uses the same bolt action and receiver. This carbine has a very low three digit serial number.
