Product Information

Martini Henry Cavalry Carbine.  Originally built by Enfield in 1888 and chambered for .577, in 1892 it was upgraded to the new .303 cartridge by H.R.B.Co Henry Rifled Barrel, Engineering and Small Arms Company Ltd who carried out the work.  This type of cavalry carbine was made without a bayonet lug to avoid snagging on the saddle holster and with smoother sights and nose cap for the same reasons. This example is regimentally marked November 1896 Yorkshire Hussars (Yeomanry Cavalry), weapon number 175 (11.1896. Y.Y.H.175), which saw active service in both world wars. A very interesting carbine with lots of history and markings. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
