Product Information

This, Smith & Wesson .38 M&P revolver was produced by S&W in early 1942. It was originally intended for UK and Common Wealth personnel. The Markings of the top strap "United States Property", were most commonly associated with weapons what were assigned to the Lend Lease agreement between the UK and US governments. However, this example ended up in French hands and was marked and then issued to the Régiment de Transmissions - RT (Signals Regiment; French Army), it also has the owners name "T Bongalis" stamped on the left hand side of the frame. To find a revolver with both of these sets of markings is very unusual and is a great piece of Allied war history. The revolver was deactivated with a working action and can be cocked and dry fired.
