Product Information

A great condition early Second World War British made Lee Enfield No4 MKI rifle. Marked on the receiver ROF (F) 9 43 = Royal Ordnance Factory, Fazakerley, September 1943. The positioning and type font of these markings plus the additional double serial numbering would indicate that this rifle returned to the factory during the war for repair before being issued again in September of 1943. The original markings were normally placed in the central part of the receiver. These markings were removed when it was refurbed in 1943. Another unusual feature is the early production round cocking piece on the bolt, they were only used on early British No4 rifles. The British MK1 receivers design has the bolt head release button/catch. The MK1* has a slot in the bolt head guide rail. 1943 saw a huge demand for weapons within the British army, with all available rifles put into service with both British and Common Wealth forces. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
