This is a Winchester Model 1890 pump action take down rifle. Winchester's serial numbers for 1897 ran from 44,709 to 54,905 completing just 10,196 rifles that year. It proved to be a very popular rifle with 752, 044 made before production ceased in 1941. The model 1890 is a quality made rifle utilsing the bullet proof Winchester / John Browning designed action. At some stage this example was imported into the UK and was converted to .22 Long Rifle. Deactivated to current specifications with a with a working pump action, moving hammer and trigger.
