Product Information

A truly fabulous example of a Second World War issued Thompson M1A1 that was used by British Airborne or Commandos. The rear sling hoop and foregrip swivels have both been repositioned, this modification was most commonly associated with weapons that were issued to British Commando's and Airborne troops. When parachuting the gun could be carried or slung more safely. It was also more comfortable when being carried on the ground. This example has a very rare hand cheqered foregrip, again also closely associated and only seen on British issued Thompsons. The gun has a beautiful even patina to the finish with matching serial numbers to the receiver and trigger assemblies. The woodwork colour and wear are all evenly worn which strongly suggests they have been together on this gun since issue. Note the repair to the butt-stock behind the sling swivel. A standard British armourers repair that is often seen on SMLE, No4, Sten MK5's and Bren's etc. This Thompson dates to circa 1942 as the year of production.  Deactivated with a working action.
