This is a Second World War manufactured Webley & Scott MK4 .38 service revolver. The serial number dates to 1944 as the year of production, and the frame bears the British broad arrow military acceptance stamp. This compact variant with the short barrel and short grip is more commonly associated with tank, armoured vehicle and pilots who found it to be better suited to the confines of a cockpit or tank. Deactivated with a working action.
