A second world war Colt 1911A1 .45 automatic pistol. The serial number dates to 1943. The pistol has the correct US military acceptance ordnance stamps "crossed cannons", and the inspectors initials FJA - Frank J Atwood. One of the most iconic US military sidearms of all time. They were used in both world wars, Korea and Vietnam to name a few, and are still the weapon of choice for many serving US personnel. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired.
