This is a fascinating Belgium Browning M1922 pistol. The serial number and slide legend would indicate that this pistol was made from either late war parts or immediately after WWII. According to Anthony Vanderlinden's book The Belgium Browning Pistols these pistols have slide legends measuring 81mm. This may also explain the machining marks that were made to remove whatever was once stamped in the slide. Immediately after WWII the FN factory was put back into production and started assembling pistols from both newly made and premade parts. All visible numbers are matched (barrel, frame slide etc). Deactivated with a working action.
