Product Information

This is a rare Enfield 1906 dated SMLE MKI* .303 Rifle. The SMLE (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) was first introduced into military service in 1903. From 1903 to 1907 the Royal Small Arms Factory,  Enfield only produced 193,644 MKI & MKI* SMLE's. On average that's less than 40,000 a year. This example is fitted with an early bolt assembly and the receiver still has the early charger bridge loading guide and magazine cut-off plate. During WWII this rifle was refurbished and put back into service. The rear sight is dated 43 =1943. Unusually it has been serial numbered above the Enfield name and also has two sets of corresponding serial numbers on the receiver and barrel. All numbers are the same and in the same font.

Deactivated to current specifications with moving bolt and removable magazine. This rifle can still be fully dismantled with the exception of the bolt.

This item is available for purchase and is currently at the proof house being certificated.
