Rare Nazi Mauser .22 "Hitler Youth" training rifle or Third Reich Training Rifle, often referred to as DSM 34 "Deutsches Sportmodell". Developed in 1933/34 these rifles were used to train new young recruits in all aspects of marksmanship. The design was based on the standard German infantry carbine, the K98. Hitler realised that good rifle skills and marksmanship were fundamental when training young recruits during the build up to WWII. They were also utilized by political groups during this period.  This is a fairly early production example with correct military acceptance stamps, Mauser banner on the receiver, the serial number is only 10524, (number ten thousand, five hundred and twenty fourth) and is on bolt, receiver(action) and wood work. Deactivated in 1993 to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
