This is a late Second World War German K98. Dated 1944 the makers code is  "dot" = Waffenwerke Brunn with Waffen acceptance stamp Eagle over 63. This K98 was lost in action during the war before being recovered many years later. The wood work has long since perished and the bolt is missing. However, whilst we were deactivating it we discovered that it still had the remnants of a 7.92mm bullet in the breach. This would indicate that shortly before it was lost in action it was loaded and in use! A fascinating piece of WWII curio. Deactivated to current specifications it will be supplied with a 2018 certificate of deactivation.
