This is an early production Nazi K98 that was manufactured in 1936 by Mauser. That year Mauser used the secret code S/42 and only produced an estimated 256,367 rifles. These early examples were marked with Weimar Eagle acceptance stamps that have the drop winged Eagles. The woodwork is the correct early type and is also Mauser made and marked.
