This is a pre Second World War issued Nazi Walther PPK (Polizei Pistole Kriminal) in 7.65mm calibre. With matching numbers and more unusually with original matched magazine. This example dates to pre 1938 production. The proof markings Crown over N were only used on pre WWII pistols.The finish is the original factory bluing, the grips too are the correct one piece type fitted. This was the pistol used by German Government officials, as well as the police and military during WWII, and often used by staff officers as their personal weapon. They were first produced at the beginning of the 1930's, and were seen as a prized possession to the issuer, and as a symbol of the pinnacle of engineering in pistol terms.Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
