Product Information

A Mauser Gewehr Model 1871/84 rifle, manufactured by Spandau. The serial number of this rifle is only number 15. From this very low serial number we can assume that this rifle must have been from the very first weeks if not days production of that years production. Marked on the receiver with the Prussian Crown over "FW" (Frederick Wilhelm, King of Prussia) and Imperial German army acceptance stamps. The 1871/84 designation signifies that this rifle was upgraded in 1884 with an 8-round tubular magazine within the fore stock designed by Alfred Von Kropatschek making this Germany's first repeating rifle. Chambered in a massive 11mm, the imperial German army were still utilising these rifle during the First World War. Chambered in an obsolete calibre this rifle can be owned live without any form of license. The bore is in very good condition.
