Product Information

A Lee Enfield No5 MKI Jungle Carbine. This particular carbine is from the penultimate years production. First produced in 1944 for the Second World War, the No5 was phased out in 1947. In terms of numbers made, it was very small with only 251,000 carbines completed. Only two companies manufactured it, BSA and ROF Fazakerely, this one being made by Royal Ordnance Factory, Fazakerely in August 1946 (8/46) and is one of only 169,807 made by them. Very few were made in 1946. Note the armorers repairs to the wood work, a very good indication of service use. The No5 saw extensive service with the British army during many post WWII conflicts including the Suez Crisis and Korean War.

This example is profusely broad arrow stamped and still retains its bayonet lug, this was often removed as it was prone to snagging on branches and undergrowth. Comes fitted with an original sling. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
