Vietnam era VZ58 (model of 1958) Assault Rifle, infantry model with fixed stock, chambered in 7.62mm. Czech made, it appears very similar to the Russian AK47, but internally it is very different. The build quality is far superior and they proved very successful being adopted by military forces all over the globe. Most notable by Vietnamese forces during the Vietnam War (1955 to 1975). Unlike the AK it wasn't produced in such huge numbers with only an estimated 920,000 ever made. This example dates to 1968. James Bond fans will have seen this model being used in the 007 movie "For Your Eyes Only". Deactivated with a working action in 1990 to old specifications, it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Comes with leather sling. A rare and interesting old spec assault rifle.
