Product Information

This is an SLR with a difference! This Enfield produced British L1A1 SLR with black ABS furniture has the possibly unique addition of a field modified spotting scope affixed to the top cover. We understand that this modification was carried out by unit level armourers to be used in scout/recon operations, with the scope being used for advance party ranging rather than long range target acquisition. The SLR is finished in black military Suncorite with a remnants of a matt subdued finish on the buttstock, further pointing towards its use for covert or reconnaissance purposes. The receiver bears various markings of armourer re-work, indicative of a rifle which has seen extensive service within the MOD. The scope is mounted permanently to the sliding top cover – this cover can be replaced with a standard L1A1 top cover if required. The scope is marked “No42 Mk.1” – a scope dating as far back as WW2 which was often seen on Enfield No4.T sniper rifles, modified from its original role as an artillery spotting scope.

Dated 1959, it is quite conceivable that this rifle has seen service in the Falklands War and the Northern Ireland theatre of operations to name but a few.

Available without scope and standard top cover £1495. Deactivated to current specifications a with moving bolt carrier and charging handle, trigger and fire select lever. Included is a period correct sling and several 7.62 inert rounds.
