Product Information

Deactivated Sterling SMG L2A3 (Sterling Mark 4) chambered in 9mm. A superb example with original black "crackle" finish. The serial number refix letter "S" would suggest that this Sterling may have originally been designated as a silenced/moderated version. There is also a faint ring mark around the body forward of the magazine housing where, if fitted the silencer would have been. Adopted by the British military in 1956. This model was the last regular version in service with the British Army. The Sterling replaced the Sten. Seeing action in the Suez Crisis, Falklands War and Northern Ireland to mention a few. Deactivated with a moving trigger and tensioned cocking handle, it is partially strippable. Due to the new and current Home Office regulations, this type of submachine gun is no longer deactivated in this way. They are now welded solid with no moving parts. Comes with correct canvas sling.
