A lovely condition medium framed French Lefaucheux PinFire Revolver model M1858, circa 1860. This example has a lanyard hoop and would have almost certainly been military issued. It has a lovely even patina finish and original solid wood grips. The initials M D standard for Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Étienne. French Lefaucheux revolvers were used by widely throughout Europe and were used by both sides during the US Civil war. Often referred to as the "French Tranter". Chambered in 12mm, an obsolete calibre it can therefore be owned completely live without any form of license. The action is crisp and tight and it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
