Very Rare early Lee Enfield MK5 SMLE Trials Rifle dated 1922. Very low serial number, this is one of only 6500  made that year. A very rare example. This rifle is still live and is in amazing condition.
It is missing the rear sight, but we have manage to locate one. This will be supplied and fitted to the rifle at know extra cost.

Apart from an extra barrel band near the muzzle its main difference was that it had an aperture backsight rather than the open U-type of the earlier rifles, experience having shown that this type of sighting was easier to teach, while the increased distance between the backsight and foresight reduced the margin of error and made for more accurate shooting.
