Product Information

A beautiful condition and rarely seen 1920 dated Lithgow SMLE No1 MKIII* rifle. All matching numbers except for the bolt. The Australian SMLEs were manufactured in very small numbers throughout its entire production period. This one is from a small batch of around 25,000 made during the inter war period. It has been smooth bored in .303 and was then used for re enactment. During this time it was deemed necessary to have a threaded plug put in the muzzle end to prevent discharge of a projectile and "BLANK" stamped to the receiver and barrel. The plug is removable and no longer necessary. It would be ideal for WWI or WWII re enactment.

Therefore it can be owned in its current form on an FAC and used as a blank firer or unrestricted bolt action shotgun. Or, with the correct legal magazine capacity restriction alterations and reproof, be used again as a bolt action shotgun (section 2 firearm). Or, can be deactivated to order.
