Rare Sabot 22mm Sub Calibre Mortar Cartridge. This unusual devise is used as a carrier for the 22mm projectile. The 81mm cartridge would be loaded with a 22mm sub-calibre projectile and then fired from a mortar. Shortly after the projectile has left the cartridge it would fall to the ground and could be reused. The maker is German company Nico-Pyrotechnik. They were used by various NATO countries and the US.
