A superb condition original and complete WWII British 3inch mortar round. Dated August 1940 on the mortar body and tail fins. All parts are correctly marked and dated. In August of 1940 Churchill gave is historic and memorable speech to the House of Commons" Never was so much owed by so many to so few" . This mortar was made whilst Germany bombed British munitions factories and the RAF fort the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain - July 1940  to October 1940.
