This is an early WWII Manufactured British No36M MKI Mills grenade. The initials on the body "CC" are those of Carron Company, Falkirk, Scotland. The base plug is dated 40 = 1940. The body still has its original wartime painted green painted band and red crosses. The red crosses indicates it is a live grenade suitable for tropical environment and the green band shows it is filled with amatol.
