Product Information

This is a large Second World War German 10.5cm artillery bomb with removable fuse. It stands 58.5cm high and weighs somewhere in the region of 8-10kg. This size and type of projectile was fired from the German Gebirshaubitze 40, a mountain howitzer used during the war that was the heaviest mountain howitzer ever built. Very few were manufactured, less than 450. Both fuse and projectile are marked with the correct WWII German ordnance stamps. The makers code looks to be "cho" with a date stamp of January 1945 (2 45). The AZ23 fuse was made by "awl" - Union-Gesellschaft fuer Metallindustrie, Sils van de Loo u. Co., Werl plant,Froendeberg, Ruhr.
