Product Information

This is a Post WW2 Yugoslavian M1948 bayonet and Scabbard, marked "Preduzece 44"  denoting production in Factory 44, Kragujevac (now Serbia). These bayonets were based on the WW2 German S84/98 III Bayonet as used on the wartime Kar98k bolt action rifle, on which the Yugoslavian Mauser was itself based and were produced between 1949-1965. This particular example was captured and brought back by NATO peace-keeping forces during the Bosnian war of the early 1990's, so was most likely in use with Serbian forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Of interest are what appear to be tally marks carved into the wooden grips, possibly indicative of combat use.
