Product Information

This is a rare 1st Pattern 1907 pre WWI SMLE Hook Quillion Bayonet & Scabbard and correct canvas frog. Dated August 1909 (8'09) it was manufactured by Sanderson Bros & Neubold (Sanderson). The Pattern 1907 SMLE bayonet was first approved in January 1908. Sanderson only made 22,500 hooked quillion bayonets. These early bayonets were among the first to see action during WWI. The vast majority had the quillions cut off after it was deemed obsolete. This example only survived because it was sold out of service which is signified by the two broad arrow stamps facing each other stamped on the pommel. This also indicates that it was in service with the army prior to its sale. A rare find!
