Product Information

This is a rare matching numbers, regimentally marked WWI British issued SMLE 1907 Pattern bayonet and scabbard. The pommel is marked with the initials 3 WF - 3rd Welsh Fusiliers no 3396. The date stamp on the blade is 11'14 - November 1914 and the scabbard 1915. The Welsh Fusiliers saw extensive service throughout the Great War suffering significant losses. To find an early WWI matched and regimentally marked SMLE bayonet with its original scabbard is very unusual. The majority from this period were lost in battle and those that did survive are normally with a none matching scabbard. Note, the pommel does not have the clearing hole, only found on early examples.
