Product Information

This is a very rare WWI German pistol leather holster by Ernst Scheffler, Chemnitz dated 1918. It also bears the unit initials “L.Z.St./J.Lpz.”, which is an abbreviation for “Leichtflugzeug Sammelstelle Intendantur Leipzig”, which translates to “Light Aircraft Collection Directorate Leipzig”. Which indicates it was issued to an official of the German Government department responsible for the acceptance of newly built aircraft into the German Air Force prior to the Treaty of Versailles which prohibited such activities from 1919.

The spare magazine pouch size would indicate it was designed for 7.65mm calibre pistol. German forces carried a variety of sidearms in this calibre that would fit this holster. We have pictured it fitted with WWI issued German Langenhan pistol which fits perfectly. See product code 1FRL. It was also fit a Dreyse, Menta, Mauser 1914 models, Walther Model 4 and Ortgies to name but a few.
