This a very rare WWII Japanese Type 88, 50mm knee mortar round, with all matching numbers. There were types on round of which this is the more scarce with threaded nose cap. It was fired from the Type 89 portable knee mortar and were used extensively against the US during the war. WWII Japanese ordnance is rarely seen in the UK, this being the first of its type we have encountered.
