Product Information

This is an early example Boer War & WWI Era 1895 Pattern British Sword with scabbard.

Made by Wilkinson of London, the serial number 26915 dates to 1885 and would normally have the VR (Victoria Regina) cypher on the guard. The guard on this example has the Royal Cypher of Edward VII showing intertwined ERI standing for Edward Rex Imperator simply because they tended to be re-guarded on the accession of a new monarch and re-issued. NCO swords like this are less common than officers' models due to this alteration.

The grips are shagreen with wire bindings. The etched steel blade is 84cm and in good condition with no chips and not been re sharpened. The metal scabbard is overall in good original condition.

This is a nice example in good condition for its age.
