This is a WWI British Map Reading Pocket Magnifying Glass by Carsartelli of Manchester. Unlikely most others this example is named on the back "C.Haslam" who would have most likley been a serving officer in the British army. This devise was used on the battlefield during WWI with many seeing service again during WWII. With some further research it maybe possible to track down who C.Haslam was and what he did.
