This is a pair of WWI German Imperial Army, Infantry binoculars that were made by C.P. Goerz , Berlin. 6x24 Armee Triede and are date code I.18, this is a month and year code used by the Germans during the war. Goerz production records show that the serial number 488344 dates these binoculars to early 1918 production. The initials D.R.P. are an abbreviation for Deutsches Reichs-Patent. This abbreviation was only used on German military issued equipment. The optics are good with both eye pieces able to focus. As is to be expected form a 98 year old military issued item, It is missing a nut from the front but this does not affect their useability. The original leather neck cord is in tact.
