This is a 1943 dated Bren gun sustain fire tripod that was made by Birmingham Small Arms. This is the simplified variant produced without an extendable leg and without the two anti aircraft legs. This model of sustain fire tripod was much lighter for troops and better suited for ground use during the fast moving battlefields in France after the D-Day landings. Clearly marked with the BSA emblem and lots of broad arrow stamped parts.
