This is an original RAF B Type leather flying helmet with Gosport tubes . The B Type leather helmet was the standard flying equipment headdress used by RAF aircrew between 1936 and 1941, before being replaced by the Type C. With no integral wiring, the helmet was to be used in conjunction with either Gosport receivers or radio telephone receivers. The label is marked "AM" = Air Ministry. All straps and stitching are in good order.
