An original Second World War Nazi Bunker telephone. These heavy duty military phones were installed in all manor of German buildings including gun emplacements and bunkers. The shrapnel or grenade strike to casing by the charging handle shows clear evidence that this set was in a building or bunker that was targeted. Incredibly it still charges and sounds the bell when the handle is cranked. The maker looks to be Siemens, who made these phones during the war. A fascinating piece of German engineering with an equally fascinating history.
