1868 Tower Snider Two Band Rifle

This is a 1868 dated Tower manufactured Snider Two Band Rifle. The lock bears the Royal Crown emblem and the additional names of gunmaker W.J.Hill and R.L & Co. Gunmaker W.J.Hill was responsible for patented revolver improvements from the same period. The barrel is marked with the corect period proofs and calibre of 25 Bore or .570. This rifle would have most likely been sold as a private purchase. The overall condition is still very good throughout with a lovely even patinia to action and barrel.

The bore is still in good condition with good strong rifling throughout, and the action is crisp and smooth. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.

This lovely rifle is chambered in an obsolete calibre and can therefore be owned live without any form of license.
