Product Information

This is an 1888 dated Enfield made Martini Henry MKII artillery carbine. The brass disc reads "12 1893 V 1 GR A 702"= December 1893, 1st Gloucester Volunteer Artillery, weapon number 702, South Midlands brigade, Royal Field Artillery. The South Midland Division was ordered to France in March of 1915, and in April that year the division had taken over a section of the front line near Neuve Eglise in Belgium. They were equipped with 18 pounder guns. This carbine has matching numbers to the barrel and receiver. The original wood work has the Enfield round and the sold out of service markings (two broad arrows facing each other).
Chambered in its original and now obsolete calibre .577/450, it can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. The bore is in very good condition.

This gun is being sold as a collectors piece only.
