Product Information

A French Fusil mod Mle 1874 Chassepot/Gras M80 carbine. Originally manufactured by MAS (Manufacture D'Armes, St. Etienne). In 1880 an additional modification was done which involved cutting an annular channel and a longitudinal groove in the receiver for gas escape in case of cartridge rupture. The M80 designation was then added. The Chassepot was used by French forces during the Franco-Prussian and First World War. It proved to be a very accurate and reliable rifle with French partisans using them against the Nazis during the Second World War. This example is chambered in an obsolete calibre 11mm and looks to have been well used during its service life with lots modifications and alterations made to it.

Chambered in 11mm obsolete calibre, this rifle can be owned live without ant form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
