Product Information

A super condition all matching numbers, German military marked Prussian M1809/39 Percussion rifle, chambered in .71 bore. Maker marked on the lock Potsdam and dated 1856, it is regimentally marked "20 L W R 8 C 468" which we believe is an abbreviation for the 20th Landwehr Regiment, 8th Company, weapon number 468. Originally a flintlock, it was factory converted to percussion. This upgrade was first started around 1839 hence the re-designation 1809/39. Many of these rifles were used during the Crimean War (1853 to 1856) and were also exported to the US for the American Civil War (1861 to 1865). Incredible this rifle is all matching numbers and even the cleaning rod, that has it attachment piece, is numbered to the rifle.

A museum worthy rifle!

A action is still crisp and tight. Chambered in an antique obsolete calibre this rifle can be owned live without any form of license. It has a working action and is not deactivated in any way. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.

This rifle is being sold as antique collectors item only.
