Product Information

This is a second year of production Leopold Gasser manufactured military issued M1870 Gasser revolver. It is correctly stamped with the letter T then the Double Headed Eagle stamp and finally the date of 1871 (871). The initials LG and name Leopold Gasser, Wein confirm that it was that it was made by the man himself and not a Belgium copy. It has matching numbers to the barrel, frame, cylinders and clearing rod, but more importantly it has the regimental markings of the Austrian 42nd Regiment, weapon number 16. Just visible beneath these markings are previous regiment stamps. This massive revolver has a barrel length of just over 7 inches and is chambered in 11mm (obsolete calibre in the UK). It works of both single and double actions and indexes correctly. The cylinder bores and barrel are still in very good condition. Accompanying it is a very unusual modified holster. It was original for a Webley or similar type of large framed British revolver. On the rear are the initials WS (Webley & Scott ?) with two broad arrow acceptance stamps facing each other. This indicates that it was sold out of service.

Chambered in an antique obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
