Product Information

This is an impressive M1854/66 Jager-Stutzen Wanzl Carbine. These beautifully made Austrian guns were all hand finished and bear various maker and issue markings. The date stamp on the lock is 855 which is for 1855 with the Austrian Eagle to the left side of the hammer. The regimentally markings on the butt-plate "V.D.L.D. 4841" look to be Dutch and have been applied over previous markings indicating that it was issued at least twice. The action is incredibly strong and firm when cocking the hammer. These carbines feature a unique sliding banana rear sight. The overall length of the barrel is 25.5 inches of which 21 inches are octagonal and the final 4.5" section round. The bore/calibre measures 13.9mm or .54 bore.

This historic rifle can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. The bore is in good condition thoughout.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
