Product Information

WWI Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) SMLE MKIII* Rifle with bayonet and scabbard. Rifle and bayonet are both dated 1917. Regimental markings on the brass disc "1.17 SX" and markings on the brass butt stock "2W 689". Below the factory markings are the initials FTR, meaning Factory Through Repair, a good indication that this rifle saw active service and required re work/servicing. The SMLE was used by Allied forces in both world wars, and is still considered by many as one of the best military bolt action rifles of all time. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
