An incredible condition Old Specification deactivated Fabbrica Armi Pietta (F.A.P.) 1857 Smiths Carbine, chambered in .62 bore. The attention to detail is superb with the correct name and address of the distributor and manufacturer as found on the original US Civil War guns. Fantastic case hardening to the action and the deep bluing to the barrel with unblemished wood work. Manufactured to a very high standard. A beautiful example of which very few were made. This example being only number 1670. Very few were originally made around 30,000. It has a very clever breech loading action and hinges apart in the middle for loading. A very impressive carbine. Deactivated sympathetically in 1995 to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
